@theDistillery Sunday. This is the latest addition to Kami’s wonderful series of early Sunday evening performances at the Distillery. Kami’s pop-rock quintet features her on vocals, keys and trumpet, NRBQ bassist Joey Spampinato, Morphine drummer Jerome Deupree and the great Sensible Shoes duo, Barbara Blaisdell on keys and vocals and Tim Utt on guitar. Before first appearing at the Distillery last year, this group rocked the 2023 SXSW festival. This month’s visiting all-star is Syd Straw. Her music odyssey blossomed in the 80’s singing with Pat Benatar and later with the Golden Palominos. In addition a great career fronting her own band, she has also graced albums by Vic Chesnutt, Wilco, and Rickie Lee Jones. Syd Straw on Letterman
